Sarasota School of Architecture

In the most recent issue of Atomic Ranch Magazine (Summer 2019), the rich Mid-Century Modern heritage of Sarasota, Florida, is in the spotlight. You can tour iconic homes in this seaside region and discover for yourself the lasting impact of the Sarasota School of Architecture. This group of architects who emerged in the 1950's included Paul Rudolpf, Ralph Twitchell, Tim Seibert, Victor Lundy and more. Examples of their homes can be seen throughout Sarasota.

We are fortunate to live in Sarasota, in a mid-century (1956) "atomic ranch" home with stunning terrazzo floors throughout. Many of these iconic homes are still available in our hometown and are now being loving renovated and restored and receiving the attention they deserve. Some of our favorite mid-century neighborhoods include Southgate and Gulf Gate, both just across from the beautiful beaches of Siesta Key and Lido Shores on Longboat Key.

Be sure to visit Sarasota during the weekend of November 8-10, 2019 for SarasotaMOD Weekend. Details can be found at sarasotamod.com. And while visiting here, think mod and stay at one of the new Sarasota hotels, The Sarasota Modern.
